
Founded in 1926 in the Horsham area of Sussex, the group was originally named The Society of Sussex Wealdmen and used to walk monthly on a Sunday. The walk usually began with a train journey from Horsham, sometimes into the North Downs, often to the coast. the walks were well-attended by men and women alike.
